Kerala known as” God’s own country”, India’s most advanced society lies to the south west of Indian peninsula. It is flanked by the Arabian Sea on the west and the mountain ranges of the Western Ghats on the east. Kerala is famous for ayurveda, unani and naturopathy.
The fronds of the coconut palms extend over hundreds of kilometers, like a green garland over Kerala`s beaches, but they also spread out over the mountains slopes in the interior. Kerala`s coconuts are harvested by the millions, and coconut fiber (coir) is put to a variety of uses. The palm grooves are far from deserted. Kerala`s inhabitants have built their houses in the shade of the palm trees, away from cities, and are still building more.
Most of the spices are so indispensable for the Kerala’s master chefs, have flourished in the mountain forest for thousands of years and have been exported to other countries for almost as long, Kerala is the land of spices.
